AMD's Mijlpaal: Eerste dual Athlon CPU systeem

AMD behaald de laatste tijd het ene succes na het andere succes, net zo als deze mijlpaal: Het eerste workstation dat gebasseerd is op een dual AMD Athlon processor.

AMD heeft gisteren een publieke demonstratie gegeven van een multiprocessor computer speciaal ontworpen voor AMD processors.
De demonstratie, vond plaats op het 2000 Microprocessor Forum, bestond uit een computer die "powered" was bij dual AMD Athlon processors, de AMD-760 MP Chipset, en de volgende generatie Double Data Rate (DDR) geheugen.

"Today’s demonstration brings AMD one step closer to enable our customers to offer next-generation dual processor workstations and servers powered by AMD processors," said Rich Heye, vice president and general manager of AMD’s Texas Microprocessor Division. "AMD’s dual processor platform is designed to take the extremely successful AMD Athlon processor into the enterprise markets that require multiprocessing workstation and server solutions."
